Getting here

Without a car to Maidbronn.

Many of our guests come because of the University Hospital or for longer stays, often without their own car. It works, and here's how.

The stop is 350 metres from the house

The bus stop Maidbronn Albin-Jörg-Straße is about 350 metres away, roughly a 6-minute walk. Route 450 stops there, running from Würzburg via Maidbronn to Rimpar and on to Gramschatz. For the journey here, that means: by train to Würzburg Hbf (the main railway station), then onto the bus, and the last stretch is a short walk.

A second stop, Maidbronn Am Baumland, is at the southern edge of the village, about 580 metres and 11 minutes on foot. Depending on the route and direction of travel, it may be the more convenient one.

For guests with an appointment at the University Hospital

The main Grombühl campus is 10 to 15 minutes away by car. Without a car, the route goes via Würzburg: bus 450 to Würzburg Hbf, then tram 1 or 5 towards Grombühl to the Pestalozzistraße stop. Allow around 45 minutes each way, depending on connections. If you need daily treatment and have no car, a taxi is often the more relaxed option, especially early in the morning.

Timetables, but not from us

We deliberately don't list departure times here. Timetables change twice a year, and a time printed on a holiday apartment website is wrong sooner or later. These sources show today's timetable:

The transport network is called the VVM, Verkehrsunternehmens-Verbund Mainfranken, customer service on 0931 36-886886.

There's no railway station here

To avoid any misunderstanding: Rimpar and Maidbronn have no railway station. The nearest is Würzburg Hbf, about 9 kilometres away, 10 to 15 minutes by car. If you're arriving by train, change onto the bus there or take a taxi.

What's within walking distance

Without a car, everyday life here is manageable, but limited. Measured from the front door:

Shopping in Rimpar is 2 kilometres away, about half an hour on foot, 8 minutes by bike. In Maidbronn itself there's a discount supermarket with a bakery just a few minutes away. For trips to the Gramschatzer Wald forest or the river Main, you'll need a car or a bike, no bus runs there often enough to be useful.

All distances have been checked with a pedestrian routing tool, the times are for a comfortable walking pace. For the pizzeria, only the time is given because the building isn't recorded in the map data.
